Organophosphates ? The active ingredient in most insecticides. What happens to the organophosphate that doesn’t go in the cabin ? How many planes are flying every which way across the sky ?
The real hazard is insecticides which are regularly sprayed in passenger cabins. It effects domestic and international flights. This video is avoiding the issue.

I’m wondering if these planes are used for spraying when they are not used as passenger planes. And the chemical poison is left over from their other ventures. Maybe that’s how the airlines are staying in business; by picking up extra work.
A contrail will always be short, because all it is hot air turning to vapor in the cold air, like steam, and steam goes away rather fast.

Yea that’s fine @Airportchris2 but what dictates the rate at which contrails dissapate, or is it normal for 2 contrails say, to sheet out across and fog half the viewable sky?

Well if it’s caused as a result of the design of the aircraft, you must complain to the manufacturer, not the airline, of course you can still hold contempt for the airline, since they didn’t speak about it, assuming they all knew themselves.

Besides I’m one of those who got DVT after several long-haul flights… this was over a decade ago (before everyone knew about the links witth flying)
But did I get any ‘compensation’ from the airlines (who had known about the links for several years if not decades)… not a chance!

Well, maybe so, but this video was about the bleed air from the air intake through the engines affect on passengers and crew, not the affects of burning jet fuel, and it’s affects on the environment.
Also, once the new 787 is out later this year, and the 747-8, which is out sometime next year I believe, they are to be more fuel efficient, and like in the video, the intake air system is not through the engines anymore, so it will be safer for the passengers and crew inside.

Its a complex hydrocarbon molecule & burning is just a ‘chemical reaction’ & what is created is nano-hydrocarbon ‘soot particles’
These act as ‘seeds’ around which H2o (condensation) forms.. the chemical reaction between the hydrocarbons & the water creates ‘acidic’ particles which don’t dissipate like condensation but grow into a ‘pseudo-sirrus’ clouds & spread out into a ‘Haze’ which ‘dims’ the sun
Yea, jet fuel is nothing more than kerosene, Grade Jet-A fuel is nothing more than kerosene, and people have kerosene lamps and heaters, burning them prolly more frequently than they fly.
Well, at average flight levels like 30,000 feet, etc. all aircraft that can fly that high will have contrails, depending on how cold it is at their level, but anything @ or above FL300, they are more than likely to have contrails.
ok so they fuel dump at 30,000 feet over the sea.. it still makes a ‘mist’ which travels on the jet-stream or whatever & still rains down on us
However my main point was about the additives to jet fuel which, when burnt, create complex hydro-carbons which in turn act as the ‘seed particle’ for H2O to attach itself to.. thus creating manmade ‘chemical clouds’ not just ‘condensation-trails’
The chemical make up of the upper atmosphere is very different too, so its had unforseen effects.
