Cruise companies have realised there is increasing interest in learning something while on holiday, and there are all kinds of educational cruise options available to travellers. Check out some of the options below:
Crystal Cruises implemented their Creative Learning Institute, where passengers on many of their cruises can learn languages, study art and music, discover the benefits of Tai Chi or attend wellness lectures. There are also seminars run as part of the Crystal Visions program, which sees many inspirational speakers, sports people and notable personalities come on board to motivate, entertain and pass on their knowledge.
Passengers of Princess Cruises can join the Scholarship@Sea collection of classes on board, from digital technology, to creative crafts, as well as mastering the art of cooking. While the courses aren’t free, there are all kinds of interesting talks and seminars held on board which are, so that even if you’re booking discount cruises and hoping to save some money, you can take part in the educational part of the cruise.
In addition there’s always Celebrity Cruises, who offer a range of classes under the name Celebrity Life. Each of their courses falls under one of three central categories. There are cooking and wine courses (Savor), hands on practical courses (Discover), and health and happiness seminars (Renew). What this means is that you can learn a new language, figure out tricky computer programmes or discover how to make the perfect cosmopolitan cocktail, all on one of these luxurious cruise ships. Not bad for a holiday break!
